Fundraising
TPS's Fundraising Department aims to achieve added value for the people we support by raising funding that impacts positively and directly on their lives. This may be for some a small item like a twin bike that allows people with mobility issues to enjoy safe cycling in the company of their support worker or for a major criminal justice pilot project aimed at reducing drug misuse and re-offending rates in young Scottish males.
TPS is a member of the Fundraising Standards Board (FSB) self regulatory scheme. As members of this scheme we follow the practices of the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Fundraising Practice and comply with the key principles embodied in the Codes and in this Promise. Recent successes include:
- An Employment Development Manager funded by the Big Lottery to bring training and employment opportunities directly to our service users.
- A drug worker at our Guildry House homelessness project in Elgin to specifically address the problems faced by those with addiction issues. This post was part funded by the Robertson Trust.
- Creating a new social enterprise sandwich delivery service in Aberdeen called Rosies2GO that will provide real jobs for service users recovering from a mental health problem. This has been funded through Community Scotland's Futurebuilders Investment Fund.
- A criminal justice service for young males in partnership with three other voluntary agencies and funded by a number of Charitable Trusts, The Big Lottery Fund and the Scottish Executive.
Know someone who's getting married?
Many marrying couples already have all they need in their home and increasingly are now turning to an ethical choice of gift list. The Scottish Wedding List is the charitable gift list service that gives marrying couples and their guests a choice of charities to donate to and TPS is one of the charities benefiting. You can also use their other services for a birthday, christening, or any other even you're celebrating. Find out more at www.thescottishweddinglist.co.uk Go on...spread the word.
