The service has the capacity to support 16 individuals within a purpose built residential setting and will be located in the North West area of Glasgow.

The service supports individuals with a primary focus of stabilising their alcohol and drug use which may include optimising Opiate Replacement Treatment (ORT), managing benzodiazepine use and medicated assisted detoxification from alcohol, can be referred through Care Management to the Complex Case Group.

The programme will be undertaken in a 24 hr supported environment using an integrated Social Care and Medical model for a period of between 4-6 weeks. There will be a visiting medical officer, 24hr support from nursing staff & a social care team that included peer support workers.

During this period of stabilisation, individuals will be supported to achieve positive outcomes and develop skills, such as resilience, and improve confidence, in order to maintain stability and facilitate effective move on to the community.

The programme will consist of a mixture of trauma informed group work, one-to-one program of individualised psychosocial support, as well as an early introduction to the recovery hubs, recovery communities and TPS Connects within a Psychologically Informed Environment, which will establish therapeutic relationships to support recovery outcomes.

 Aftercare will consist of continued supports within the recovery hubs to provide continued engagement during the period of re-integration back into the community.

Individuals wishing to access the service should discuss this with their care manager form Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery service, who make the decision about referrals.

An interim service will run from a temporary location in Maryhill and will have a capacity to support 10 individuals.
