Make it Happen

The Board of Turning Point Scotland realised that the majority of the people who use our services do not posses the means to realise their dreams or aspirations without some support from the organisation.

In January 2004 the Board established the Make it Happen Fund with a financial grant from reserves and invited service users and staff members to apply for funding that would help them make their dreams come true. In order to qualify, staff members must be able to demonstrate a benefit to the people they support through any activity funded by the Make it Happen Fund.

Since then we have had numerous and varied applications from all services throughout Scotland. The fund has supported people to swim with dolphins; climb their first Munroe; learn to drive; undertake a missionary trip to a school in Kenya; sky dive and much more.

Each year the fund is topped up through sponsored activities undertaken by our services during a designated Make it Happen fundraising week. The money raised is then matched £ for £ by the Board, so ensuring that the fund has the money to continue during the next twelve months.
