Jason volunteers at Tayberry Enterprises as a "Tayberry Tales" storyteller.

Multi-sensory storytelling is for adults with profound learning disabilities and involves each line of a story to be accompanied by some sort of multi-sensory element. That maybe something to feel, something that makes a sound, or a smell.

Jason is in his 3rd year as a storyteller and now trains other volunteers who are interested in becoming a storyteller themselves. Jason is also looking to become a qualified Multi Sensory Storyteller.  As part of his qualification Jason will create and design a personal story for one of his service users using that service users ideas, likes, dislikes and anything together they can produce.

During Scotland’s first national Learning Disability Awards, Jason was nominated for all his hard work and dedication with Tayberry Tales. Jason was delighted to then hear that he had won the RSA Social Impact Award and attended the awards ceremony in Glasgow to collect his prize. A short film was produced showing Jason at work which was shown at the ceremony.
