Perth Garden Project pulls in the plaudits

People supported by Turning Point Scotland Perth & Kinross Shore Road Garden Project got their glad rags on and  attended an award ceremony.

It was the award ceremony for Beautiful Perth, a charity that promotes keeping Perth looking beautiful and making the most of spaces.

Each year Beautiful Perth host a competition with several categories i.e Best Care Home, Best Neighbouhood garden etc.  Our gardens at the Shore Road had been entered into the competition, Neighbourhood category.

Turning Point Scotland’s Shore Road Garden Project won a Gold  certificate for the standard of our garden.  The team then won the overall Neighbourhood category, receiving another certificate and a silver platter which is engraved and kept for a year.

All had a great evening, all represented Turning Point Scotland in the best way and are incredibly proud of our achievement.

Simon Humphreys, Service Manager said:

“I got quite emotional. It is a tremendous achievement.

I think this is another excellent example of how those we support can engage with community initiatives and contribute in a really positive way to their local area.”

The photo shows Craig Robertson, John McIntosh and Stuart Robertson holding both certificates and the silver platter.  They were supported by Christine, Laurie and Derry.
