One of our residents from Glasgow Alcohol Rehabilitation Service has been supported by their key worker to attend classes for IT, to build up his confidence and increase his chances of gaining employment in the future.

He applied for the welfare fund and was awarded £250.00 towards a laptop which he is now using and wants to work towards his European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and continues attending classes.

The ECDL is a Europe-wide qualification in computer skills. If you have passed ECDL, employers know you have the skills to carry out the main tasks on a computer.

This has been great timing as he is now moving on from the service and has the tools necessary to gain confidence when re- entering the job market.
