Minister resigns due to ill health
21 November 2006
The minister who piloted the 21st Century Review of Social Work in Scotland resigned this week on health grounds.
Peter Peacock had policy responsibility for the 21st century review and its implementation programme, Changing Lives.
In a resignation letter to first minister Jack McConnell, Peacock said he had been experiencing a 'prolonged period of ill health' exacerbated by the pressures of his post.
It was later announced that Deputy Justice Minister Hugh Henry would succeed Mr Peacock.
