C.A.R.S

C.A.R.S (Community Addiction Recovery Service), is a community recovery service based in Edinburgh.  The service is funded by the City of Edinburgh Council Health and Social Care and Community Justice Services.  We offer a structured, two phased day programme for women and men aged 16 years and over, living in the city of Edinburgh and who are aware they have a substance misuse problem and would like to explore their pathway to recovery.

 What services do we offer?

  • Allocated key worker for each service user
  • One to one recovery sessions
  • Peer supported group work
  • Service Information seminars
  • Daily acupuncture sessions
  • Massage therapy
  • SQA qualifications
  • Structured recovery focused modules in Phase 2

What are the aims of our service?

  • Introduce and maintain stability into formerly chaotic lifestyles
  • Reduce drug related and other offences amongst service users
  • Reduce drug related harm
  • Increase opportunities in education, training, and employment
  • Maintain or improve relationships with families, peers and the community
  • Improvements in the attitudes or behaviours which lead to offending
  • Introduce news and meaningful activities such as leisure access, creative writing, computer technology and college qualifications.
