Pitstop
PITSTOP (Promoting Independence Through Support Trust Opportunities Progression) provides 24 hour support within temporary accommodation to single people who are experiencing substance misuse concerns and who are also at risk of, or are sleeping rough.
The service aims to equip service users with the tools to live independently. PITSTOP offers people who access our service the opportunity to develop their confidence through the acquisition of life skills.
The adapted building comprises of four single and three shared flats, with the office at the heart of the dwelling.
PITSTOP works alongside other professionals to ensure that all aspects of need are addressed. This includes:
- Health and addiction concerns
- Legal matters
- Benefit issues
- Education, work experience opportunities and employment.
PITSTOP work in close collaboration with Aberdeenshire Council and the service is funded through Supporting People.
Referrals:
Referrals to PITSTOP come from Aberdeenshire Council Housing Department and the individual will then be assessed as to their suitability for the service.
