Turning Point Leith
Turning Point Leith offers a free and confidential service for people in North East Edinburgh who have drug misuse issues.
Services we provide:
Duty sessions:
Service users can present themselves without an appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 1300 hours to 1600 hours. Services available at these times include:
- Crisis intervention
- Advocacy
- Referral on to other agencies
- Assessment for casework
- Advice and information
Needle exchange:
Existing injectors can access sterile injecting equipment and dispose of used needles safely.
Individual casework:
This provides in-depth support for service users around their drug misuse and related issues.
Locality clinic:
As part of Edinburgh Integrated Drug Services, TPS Locality offers service users registered with a GP in North East Edinburgh , assessment, substitute prescribing, support and access to appropriate servoces and move on options. We work in partnershipwith NHS Lothian, Edinburgh Council department of Health and Social Care, Action on Alcohol and Drugs in Edinburgh, North East Edinburgh Community Health Partnership, as well as voluntary sector addiction and employability services.
Alcohol Worker:
As part of a pilot scheme in Edinburgh, TPS Leith has a dedicated alcohol worker. We offer practical and emotional support, advice, information and referral to other services to individuals who are experiencing problems due to their alcohol misuse.
