Training & Development

At Turning Point Scotland we are committed to providing a high standard of service to all our service users.  To do this we strive to ensure that we have a highly skilled and motivated workforce by providing extensive programmes of training that provideprovide staff with the knowledge and skills needed to do the job.

Each staff member is provided with the core training required for their post together with any specialist training which may needed to meet the support needs of individual service users.  Providing learning opportunities for personal development is also high on our agenda, allowing many individuals to gain promotion within the company.

TPS has a small team of professional trainers and operational staff who deliver training from a purpose built suite of training rooms at the Scotland Office in Glasgow and other venues throughout Scotland.  Courses are linked to relevant occupational standards and accelerated learning techniques are used to achieve maximum learning.  Local on-site training, delivered by practitioners with expertise in particular areas, is also common and is felt to be important in ensuring individuals are confident and competent in their day to day work.

In line with the requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council and the Care Commission we are also committed to achieving a fully qualified workforce.  Training plans are in place to ensure that everyone holds a qualification appropriate for their post.  Operational staff are being supported to gain the required qualifications, where necessary, to allow them to register with the Scottish Social Services Council.
