becoming homeless due to difficulties in sustaining your tenancy?

Midpoint will offer advocacy and guidance to prevent and reduce the contributing factors to your homelessness to enable individuals to sustain tenancies and live independently within communities.

Midpoint offer a city wide outreach service for men and women aged 16 years and over. As individuals, you will be allocated a support worker who you would see at least once per week at an agreed location and convenient time which now may include evening appointments. (up to 8pm)

We recognise that there are many varied influences that can contribute to an individual experiencing homelessness. Therefore staff are trained to provide an holistic support package to individuals with complex issues within communities in an appropriate and safe environment.

This involves:

  • Budgeting
  • Shopping and food preparation
  • Tenancy maintenance
  • Home management
  • Accessing health services
  • Attending appointments
  • Life skills
  • Practical guidance
  • Building positive social contacts within the community
  • Training and employment
  • Encourage motivation and promote employability
  • Signpost on to specialist services

  • To accomplish recovery focused goals
  • To actively engage individuals to integrate with the community
  • To use a person centred approach
  • To work in partnership with CEC, families/carers, voluntary sector agencies, statutory services and other Turning Point Scotland services
  • To promote social inclusion
  • To work with a non-judgemental approach
  • To advocate on the service users behalf
  • To promote anti-discriminatory practice

How to refer:

Midpoint do not operate a waiting list and we aim to provide a flexible service based on each individual’s presenting issues. We accept enquiries from any agency and/or service users. These can be made over the telephone or emailed to the appropriate referrer.
