Midway is a community resettlement service for homeless people with mental health or addiction issues.  Midway works in partnership with various local agencies to ensure individuals receive the best support available.
Support packages can include help with:
  • Maintaining a tenancy
  • Ensuring stable mental health
  • Addiction issues
  • Accessing state benefits
  • Accessing statutory and voluntary agencies when required
Progress will be reviewed after eight weeks and their needs will be re-assessed. Support may then be offered with:
  • Filling in applications for a permanent tenancy
  • Considering an offer of a permanent tenancy
  • Moving into their new tenancy and maintaining it
  • Deciding on a discharge date from Midway
The service users’ progress will then be monitored to ensure the tenancy is maintained and that the service has been effective. Accommodation consists of temporary furnished flats throughout Glasgow provided by the Hamish Allan Centre. Service users are supported in these flats and once assessed as being able to maintain a tenancy they are referred to Glasgow City Housing.
