Turning Point Scotland’s Dundee supports people who have a learning disability to enable them to live the life they chose in their own homes. In addition we have also developed robust support for a number of people who have forensic histories.
The service works in partnership with Dundee City Council and Angus Council social work departments to provide support in the Dundee area.
At present the people we support live in houses that are provided by a number of housing associations and we work jointly to support people to maintain their tenancies.
What we do
Each of the people we support has a key worker who works with them and including families, advocacy, day care services to develop a person centred plan. Each plan in specific to the individual and provides fine detail into the appropriate support that is provided for each person.
Through support plans service users will be supported in areas such as:
- Personal care skills
- Health (physical and mental wellbeing)
- Day support services including leisure activities
- Relationships and family contact
- Budgeting and support to manage finances
- Employment, work experience or voluntary placements
- Achieving outcomes
- Attending college
Support to individuals is provided by staff teams working across the service from a few hours a day to full 24 hour support. The amount of support provided varies depending on the needs of the individual and are agreed with Care Management teams.
Additionally we work with other providers to enhance the lives of the people we support.
