Viewpoint opened in 2001 to provide support and help to people with learning disabilities who are interested in finding friendship in Ayr. At Viewpoint we aim to ensure that each person’s support is tailored to suit their individual goals. We do this by involving people in all aspects of the decision making process which governs their care.
We can help you to create your own support plan which meets your personal needs and can help you to achieve your goals. We have supported people in a wide range of activities including finding and maintaining paid and voluntary employment, joining the gym, meeting up with friends and joining local clubs.
We work with people to enhance their confidence and skills so that they become less reliant on the support we provide and more reliant on themselves.
Your personalised support plan may involve:
- Joining a club that includes other people with a similar interest
- Traveling by public transport to visit places of interest
- Looking for job, either voluntary or paid
- Getting out and about to meet new friends
- Planning and doing something which you have dreamed about doing all your life
Viewpoint works to enhance people’s abilities and increase their confidence to enable them to learn new skills and broaden horizons, expectations and experiences.
- For more information download our Viewpoint service leaflet.
All of the people who use our service are referred to us by South Ayrshire Council Social Work Services, so it would be best to speak to your Care Manager to begin with. For all other enquiries, call Viewpoint on the number below.
