The original Renfrewshire Learning Disability Service was established in partnership with Renfrewshire Council in June 2001 to support individuals being resettled from long stay learning disability hospitals.

Turning PointScotland’s Weavers Mill Project provides Housing Support and Care at Home to individuals with learning and/or physical disabilities.  People may live on their own, or with one, two or three others. Some people live in the family home.  Where housing is provided by locally based housing associations, people will have their own secure housing occupancy agreement.

Each person we support has a named worker who will co-ordinate and plan supports. This process is person centered in its approach and will involve those who have an input into the person’s life. Every aspect of support is explored and reviewed regularly. The person will always remain at the heart of the plan the aim is to facilitate achievement of peoples’ dreams and aspirations. We will support people to become more involved and take an active role in their local community.

Turning Point Scotland is committed to ensuring all staff are appropriately qualified and experienced to provide support. We have a comprehensive induction and continual professional development programme.

The services extend widely throughout Renfrewshire; Linwood, Johnstone,BridgeofWeirand Kilbarchan are just some of the areas we work in.

The service is funded through various local authorities and also by individuals who are in receipt of their own personalised budget or self directed supports.
