Turning Point Scotland (Studio 8 Service) offers a single access point for people living in Moray who are 16 years and over seeking support in talking their substance misuse. The service provides assessment and onward referral as part of the Moray Alcohol and Drug Partnership’s pathways of care and recovery.

TPS Studio 8 is committed to providing direct access to information, support and guidance in a safe, relaxed and confidential environment for those who are affected by drugs and alcohol issues.

The services incorporate a range of practical methods to reduce the negative consequences of substance misuse including safer use, managed use and abstinence.

Services available include:

One to one support

Structured one to one sessions addressing issues such as motivation, self esteem, confidence building, harm reduction, relapse
prevention and recovery.

Drop-In

At Studio 8 we appreciate that there are many different paths on the road to recovery. Not everyone wants a caseworker or a key worker whilst seeking support and guidance. With this in mind, our drop-in service provides free confidential advice to those who prefer more flexible support. This service is open at the following times:

  • Monday 11am – 1pm (service users involvement meeting first Monday of every month)
  • Tuesday 2pm – 4pm
  • Wednesday 12.00 – 1.30pm
  • Thursday 5pm – 7pm
  • Friday 1pm – 3pm

Injecting Equipment Provision (IEP)

TPS Studio 8 supports harm reduction for service users and the communities they live in by providing an injecting equipment provision.  This part of the service aims to actively promote and support the provision of high quality, comprehensive needle exchange service, providing advice and support on all issues related to injecting drug use.

  • Monday 10am – 6pm
  • Tuesday 1pm – 7pm
  • Wednesday 10am – 6pm
  • Thursday 10am – 7pm
  • Friday 9am – 5pm

 

Group Work

The following groups are available at TPS Studio 8:

Peer Support, SMART Recovery, Harm Reduction, Motivation to Change, Relapse Prevention and Alternative Therapies.

The service takes referrals from a variety of sources including self referral, GP’s, Social Work etc.
