Turning Point Leith offers a wide range of free and confidential services to people from North East Edinburgh who are experiencing problems in their lives due to drug or alcohol misuse.
We support people through all stages of their recovery by creating individual support packages to suit their needs. The tailor made support offered at Turning Point Leith is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to meet the needs of the individual.
The services we provide include:
Open Access
Between 1pm and 4.30pm Monday – Friday, those who wish to use the service can come in without an appointment and gain access to:
- support and advice
- crisis intervention
- referrals to other agencies
- personal recovery planning if required
Individual Casework
One to one ongoing support from a named worker to address drug or alcohol use and related issues.
Alcohol Support
We offer ongoing emotional and practical support, advice and information to those who are experiencing problems due to their alcohol misuse.
Needle Exchange
People who inject can access sterile equipment and dispose of use equipment safely.
Prescribing
In partnership with NHS Lothian we offer a specialist assessment and substitute prescribing service for drug users.

We accept self referrals and referrals from GPs, social workers and other professionals working with an individual.
