Turning Point Scotland Dundee Service has been operating since 2002 and now provides support to over twenty individuals in their own tenancies, helping them to lead as fulfilling and independent a life as possible.

People are supported in their own homes across the city with the majority able to access support 24 hours a day, seven days a week if required. The service helps some of the most vulnerable and challenging people in the community who often have difficulty accessing services elsewhere.

Our staff are experienced working with individuals with learning difficulties and mental health issues but we take a flexible approach and can consider any adult with support needs that has their own tenancy.

The type of support on offer includes:

  • Personal care skills
  • Health (physical and mental wellbeing)
  • Day support services including leisure activities
  • Relationships and family contact
  • Budgeting and support to manage finances
  • Employment, work experience or voluntary placements
  • achieving outcomes
  • Attending college
  • Holidays

Like many cities and large towns, Dundee has a range of leisure and recreational facilities on offer to cater for sport, arts and cultural pursuits. However, access for individuals with challenging support needs can be limited and this can be a barrier to making friends and being involved in social networks, making isolation and lack of social contact a problem. We have identified theses gaps following feedback from the people we support. Using limited resources where appropriate, the service offers opportunities in a safe environment to allow individuals to mix and socialise with their peers.
Turning Point Scotland makes services fit people. The type of support we provide depends on the needs of the individual.
No matter where you live or what your circumstances, Turning Point Scotland aims to provide a high level of support to suit your needs.

Our range of support includes:

  • Housing support
  • Care at home
  • Residential care
  • Crisis intervention
  • Community rehabilitation
  • Social enterprise
