The community came together to welcome the South Korean Homeless World Cup team to the club of Glasgow East End Taekwondo.

Taekwondo originated in South Korea. The students put on a demonstration of Taekwondo, with the students and parents all coming together to provide donations of food and other refreshment’s along with the best hospitality shown.

Eddy Tyrrell, Practitioner, Turning Point Scotland Glasgow South East Community Recovery Service said:

“Though there were some language barriers,  the language of the heart spoke, raising issues of homelessness.

Both students and parents learnt a valuable lesson last night, becoming humble, great full and being educated on issues of homelessness.

For me and the club it was a very moving experience, demonstrated by the coming together through compassion and acceptance.

The South Korean team were as much blown away as we were, due to our hand of acceptance and compassion.”
